What is GPON technology and how to connect it?
GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) - a technology for connecting to the Internet via a fiber-optic cable that is installed directly in an apartment or private house. The signal is received by the ONU terminal, which transmits the Internet to the router.
Unlike traditional copper cable technologies, GPON does not degrade over distance - the speed and stability of the connection do not depend on how far the client is from the provider's node. The technology provides speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps. There is no active intermediate equipment on the entire section between the provider and the subscriber, the line does not depend on the power supply on the way to the subscriber.
How is the connection made?
It is enough to leave a request on the website or contact the technical support service. A specialist will arrive at the agreed time, lay the optical cable, install the ONU terminal, connect your router and check the operation of the network on the devices.
If necessary, stay online during power outages, the terminal and router are connected to a UPS. The Internet continues to work during a blackout, and the duration of autonomous operation is determined by the capacity of the power source.
The cost of connection using GPON technology:
For multi-storey buildings - from 300 UAH.
For the private sector - from 300 UAH.
For detailed information on the conditions and calculation of the cost of connection, you must contact the support operator.
