FTTB technology: what is it and how to connect it?
FTTB (Fiber To The Building) is a connection technology in which fiber optic cable enters the house, and then the Internet is distributed to the apartments via Ethernet cable. The distribution takes place through active equipment (switches) installed in the technical rooms of the house.
A separate copper cable (twisted pair) is laid from the switch to each apartment. This means that each subscriber receives their own line from the node to their router. The technology provides high speed at an affordable cost and ease of maintenance, without complex installation and additional equipment on the subscriber's side and is suitable for standard home use.
An important technical feature is that this technology depends on the power supply of the switches in the house. During a power outage, the Internet may be unavailable, because the intermediate equipment in the house does not receive power.
For detailed information on the conditions and calculation of the cost of connection, you must contact the technical support operator.
